Synopsis

Meet Bob, an English man down on his luck, drowning his sorrows in whiskey and strip clubs in Miami after a messy breakup. He’s quit his real estate job in New York and thrown caution to the wind, maxing out all his credit cards without a care. Bob’s goal? To be the biggest asshole he can be, even pushing innocent local kids into the bay while they’re fishing – not cool, Bob!

Bob’s days consist of stealing drinks and liquor from the local markets, reveling in the confrontation when caught. He’s like a mastermind criminal, except not so smart. One day, he staggers into a lowlife standup comedy bar, where the comedian’s jokes are so bad that Bob can’t help but heckle him. The crowd finds Bob’s heckling funnier than the standup, and he becomes an unexpected sensation, getting a standing ovation.

Embracing his newfound talent, Bob starts attending comedy shows to heckle the very best comedians, causing chaos and hilarity wherever he goes. Famous comedians make cameos, battling wits with Bob in epic showdowns. It’s like the Comedy Olympics, and Bob is the heckling champ! He starts to love all this new attention.

But Bob’s ego meets its match when he encounters Marlis, the love interest who humiliates him in front of the entire audience. This “heckling gone wrong” moment forces Bob to reflect on his sorry state of life. He even ends up floating in the bay one morning, and we’re left wondering if it was a drunken mishap or a pitiful suicide attempt.

Enter Joey, a local drug pin and party promoter who saves Bob from his watery fate. Joey introduces Bob to a wild world of lavish sex parties and mind-bending drugs. Suddenly, life doesn’t seem so bad after all. But, beneath all the excess, Bob can’t shake thoughts of Marlis, his muse, and his feelings of regret for being such a jerk.

With newfound clarity, Bob decides to change his ways and pursue Marlis, who has now moved to New York for a big standup show. He spends his days making jokes and drumming up support for her performance, even pulling strings to get famous Hollywood agents to attend.

On the night of Marlis’s standup, she’s nervous and faltering, but when Bob stands up and hands her a note, her performance takes an unexpected turn. The audience, invited by Bob, laughs uproariously at Marlis’s reading, and she finishes to thunderous applause.

Bob’s act of kindness touches Marlis deeply, and a famous Hollywood talent agency offers to represent her. They walk hand in hand down Broadway, their lives forever changed by comedy, redemption, and a little bit of stalking.

So there you have it, the story of Bob, the heckling hero, who turns his life around by spreading laughter and love, and finally finding his happy ending with Marlis. It’s a tale of comedy, chaos, and redemption – a story that proves there’s hope for even the biggest assholes among us.
